What we offer

Mekong Speech and Debate holds online and in person speech and debate courses. Speech classes include basic public speaking training with a focus on introducing Toastmasters and National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) events like storytelling, declamation, impromptu speaking, dramatic and humorous interpretation, informative speaking, original oratory, and extemporaneous speaking. Experienced students enroll in intermediate and advanced courses focused on the specific speech events they participate in.

MSD debate classes include both parliamentary styles like World Schools Debate and British Parliamentary, and NSDA events such as public forum, Lincoln-Douglas, and policy debate. We are the only speech and debate company in Cambodia with experience in American styles of debate, with decades of classroom and competition expertise. Courses start at beginner levels with progression to varsity divisions.

Every school is different and the needs of students and staff are not the same. MSD works with a growing number of schools in Cambodia to create customized packages based on the specific requirements of each institution. Many schools start their speech and debate programs with after school clubs, while others prefer to integrate speech and debate into the core curriculum or elective classes. MSD offers support for whichever option best suits the school.

Additionally, MSD provides teacher training and curriculum development in speech and debate as well as debate across the curriculum, where instructors learn how to integrate speech and debate into subjects like English, history, or science.

For students interested in attending secondary schools or universities abroad, MSD assists students with identifying the best institutions for them, applications and essays, and scholarships and/or financial aid. Our staff helped students gain acceptance to some of the top boarding schools and universities in the world, including multiple students at Phillips Exeter, Harvard University, Yale University, Dartmouth College, Columbia University, Princeton University, Brown University, New York University, Northwestern University, the University of Texas-Austin, the University of California-Berkeley, and many others.
